HOPE is a free community resource tool. Our privacy rule is simple: collect the minimum, keep sensitive information out, and never turn a survival guide into a dossier.
HOPE requires no login, account, or sign-up. We do not ask for your name, phone number, or personal information to use the public guide. We do not use advertising, tracking cookies, visitor IDs, device fingerprints, or analytics that identify or profile you.
HOPE collects broad, anonymous counters so we can learn what works and what needs repair. The counters may show:
HOPE does not collect identities, raw search text, detailed movement, exact location, case histories, document contents, benefit information, medical details, or sensitive user profiles. Anonymous events are combined into counters before transmission. A small aggregate queue may remain on the device until a connection returns; it contains no raw searches or identity.
The purpose is learning what works, not creating a miniature surveillance state with an anchor logo.

HOPE does not collect or store your location. When you choose a nearby-resource feature, coordinates are used only in your browser to sort results and are not included in anonymous analytics.
When you deliberately submit feedback or report a problem, HOPE sends the information you enter to the HOPE backend or opens your email app as a backup. A submitted message may include your email address only when you choose email. We use reports to correct information and improve HOPE, not to create client records.
Public resource files and Corkboard photos are different from the local document tools. When you deliberately press Send, the selected file, photo, caption, and contact details you choose are transmitted to HOPE for human review. Approved material may appear publicly. Do not send client records, identification documents, medical papers, safe addresses, private case information, or material you do not have the right or permission to share. Corkboard photos are resized and re-created in the browser before transmission to remove ordinary camera metadata; HOPE may retain the submitted copy as reasonably needed to review, publish, moderate, or remove it.
Paperwork Bridge prepares checklists, printable packets, shelter residency letters, and official-agency handoffs. The Local Document Check and Explain This Letter tools process selected images and typed lines only in your browser; they do not upload them to HOPE or an AI provider. Shelter-letter fields, notice text, checklist answers, and selected files are not deliberately saved by HOPE.
The optional Submission Receipt Locker stores only the limited details you choose to enter in this browser’s local storage. Do not enter names, Social Security numbers, government passwords, benefit case numbers, immigration numbers, bank information, medical records, or document images. You can export or delete the receipt log at any time.
The optional AI Paperwork Copilot is separate from Manual Private Mode. Manual Private Mode does not transmit selected paperwork. AI Mode is software, not a human or agency. It transmits only the text, images, or PDFs the user deliberately selects, through a HOPE Netlify Function to Anthropic, the configured AI provider, after explicit consent at entry and a specific send confirmation for each request. HOPE does not ask for agency passwords.
The function code does not write requests or documents to a HOPE case-file database or blob store, although Netlify, network providers, and Anthropic may process or retain transmitted material under their applicable terms. Users should remove or cover full Social Security numbers, bank or payment numbers, passwords, immigration identifiers, safe addresses, and unrelated medical details before upload. Consent can be withdrawn for future requests by leaving AI Mode or using its Withdraw AI consent control; withdrawal cannot undo processing already completed. AI output is unverified and must be reviewed against the original document and official agency instructions.
Bridge is AI software, not a human, agency, lawyer, clinician, or therapist. When connected and enabled, Bridge sends the text you type through HOPE’s same-origin Netlify Function to the configured AI provider after you choose live AI. The prepared default uses the OpenAI API and remains disabled until it is funded and activated. OpenAI requests set response storage to off, although OpenAI and network providers may still process transmitted text under their applicable terms and data controls. Do not enter sensitive personal information or document images. When offline or in private-guidance mode, Bridge answers from information saved in the app and sends nothing.
HOPE is intended for general public use and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
HOPE lists phone numbers, addresses, and links for other organizations. Those organizations have their own privacy practices, which HOPE does not control.
